Visual search has been around for some time. However it so far is not so impressive. zoomii.com, however change that. Zoomii.com allows you to view most books on Amazon as if you were at a book store. They are lined up on book shelfs and placed in categories. Also just like a book store they are sorted by authors last name. You can also search for one book to. Over all this is a great way search for books and to wast time. (Below is over 19,000 Books.)
Adobe is leaping into the business of online tools. One of their first online tools photoshop.com, allows you to simply fix up pictures online. It may not a new concept, but it works pretty well. They also build Buzzword, which is a online word processor. Their newest online product ties in Buzzword, Adobe Connect Now, and of course Acrobat into one online tools set. Acrobat.com is a great simple to use tool kit. This site allows you to write documents (with Buzzword), create PDF’s, share files, and conduct a live online meeting (using Connect Now). All of these tools allow you to share with others. Best of all as of now they are all free. I would of liked to see the PDF maker to be a little more useful, but worked just fine. All in all I think this is a nice site with good looks.
G.ho.st is a service which gives you a online virtual computer for free. Now this concept of a online virtual computer is nothing new at all. g.ho.st, which is the web address, (not .com but .st, just so you know), gives you 5 GB of free space which is hosted on Amazon.com’s S3 Web Service. They also offer some applications like the Zoho writer and Youtube channel. The look of and feel seems similar to Vista, odd. It seems their only punch here is they use the Amazon Web Service to keep your data safe. At this point even though it is only in Alpha, its nothing to write home about, and sure will not take over your computer desktop any time soon.
Today we are launch the beta of latechna.com’s new site. This site is unrelated to technology, but has to do with history. So if you are interested in history, you will want to check out History-IN from latechna.com.
“History-IN is a video site and podcast dedicated to covering historical events in the US and world history. We are hoping that when we launch that we will have a weekly video podcast about an event which occurred in the past. We will be up very soon. Go to latechna.com/blog to keep posted about our launch.”
Back in June of 2007 Google released Google TV Ads. Today it was let out of beta and is now avible to every one. When I first heard about it, I thought it was odd that a company like Google was going to bring AdWords to the TV. But then again is seems Google will try anything.
Google TV Ads now allow any one who can spend only a couple hundred dollars on a ad, to have this ad premiere on some of the most popular networks out there. This really makes me think, what types of commercial are we going to start to see. It’s so cheap now that almost anyone could make the money, and make the commercial premiere on any network the next day. Take a look at the Google TV Ads video below, from Google. Check out the demo for Google TV Ads here
You probably know a lot about sites that allow you to store and share your files online. We have tested some including SugarSync. However today we are taking a look at Oosah.com. oosah is a site that not only allows you to store up to 2 GB of you videos, photos, and music, but once uploaded to the service it allows you to put them in places including Youtube, Flickr, and more. It is mostly flashed based and pretty responsive. I found it to be one of the simpler storage sites out there. However right now in beta there are a lot of glitches. Plus the folder system could improve. Over all though it is a great product and worth a try. Check out latechna video’s review below for more…
We have know about a.viary.com for some time. But finally after waiting months I finally received my invite. And I must say it hits the top of the list of photo editing online. Now a.viary.com has quite a few other products to besides Phoenix the photo editor. There are right now 19 products ragging from Computer algorithm-based pattern generator to a Digital content marketplace. It has all of the basic tools of Photoshop with some advanced features tricked in like filtering and shadowing.
The other prorgrm we go to test is the Computer algorithm-based pattern generator, well I don’t know much about this type of program so once I figer it out I will post a blog post on it. We will hofuly have a full write up review and video review very soon. So look for that here at the blog. Photos
